A short historic outlining of FORCE Technology’s growth from a national one-man company to an international business with more than 1000 employees:
2004
FORCE Technology takes over dk-TEKNIK ENERGI & MILJØ, which is absorbed in the organization as an independent division under the name of Energy and Environment. The division has expertise in energy optimization of processes and plants and environmental handling.
2003
FORCE Technology takes over the division for Advanced Integrity Services (AIS) from the Norwegian company CorrOcean. The division specialises in the running and production optimisation of industrial facilities on land and at sea.
2002
FORCE Technology merges with DMI - Danish Maritime Institute - bringing with it an extensive expertise in model testing, computations, simulator based training and pc based simulators for the maritime sector.
As of 1 January, our name was changed to FORCE Technology.
2001
The FORCE Institute takes over all activities of Carl Bro A/S within certification, testing, and welding.
1999
The FORCE Institute takes over all activities of the Danish company TMC-teknik a/s located at Fredericia.
1994
The FORCE Institute buys the Swedish testing company STK Inter Test AB, with its headquarters in Västerås and offices in various locations in Sweden.
1992
The FORCE Institute takes over all activities of the Danish company S & Q Tech A/S located in Vejen.
1991
The FORCE Institute merges with Dantest, a firm representing a great deal of know-how in the testing and metrology field.
As of 1 January, our name was changed to the FORCE Institute.
1990
The Danish Corrosion Centre (Korrosionscentralen), since 1973 at the same address in Brøndby outside Copenhagen as the Danish Welding Institute (Svejsecentralen), merges with the Danish Welding Institute, the Danish Isotope Centre (Isotopcentralen) and the Danish Institute of Biomedical Engineering (Medicoteknisk Institut) into a new institute community.
Earlier in 1990, the Danish Welding Institute merges with the Danish Isotope Centre, which later that year moves to the head office in Brøndby, bringing with it an extensive expertise in industrial process monitoring using isotope technology.
1987
The Danish Welding Institute buys the welding, inspection, and related training activities from the former Jutland Technological Institute and sets up an office in Aarhus.
1982
The Danish Welding Institute sets up a regional office in Aalborg (Region North).
1981
The Danish Welding Institute sets up a regional office in Esbjerg (Region South).
1973
The Danish Institute of Biomedical Engineering is formed for the purpose of using ultrasound technology in applications other than weld inspection.
1971
The welding activities of the former Technological Institute are integrated in the Danish Welding Institute.
1941
On 1 January, the Danish Welding Institute begins activities as an independent institution under the Danish Academy of Technical Sciences.
1939/1940
Professor Anker Engelund, former rector of the Technical University of Denmark, takes the initiative in setting up a Danish inspection body to inspect welds in load-bearing structures and pressure vessels.
