Surface treatment has become a vital factor for improving the properties of a component, and/or extending its lifetime.
Surface treatment extends to a very large number of different types of treatment and processes, where choice can affect functional performance to a significant degree.
Surface treatment of components can have one or several functions. For example, the application of paint can have both an anti-corrosion and decorative effect.
Below is a list of certain properties often required due to surface treatment:
- Wear-resistance
- Tribiological properties
- Corrosion-resistance
- Weather-resistance
- Biocompability
- Surface tension
- Decorative properties.
Consultancy, surveys, inspection and testing
Within the field of surface treatment, FORCE Technology can offer consultancy, surveys, inspection and testing of surfaces, based on our extensive experience.
This will increase the probability of always being able to find the best and most functional solution for your surface treatment needs and will ensure optimum lifetime and pleasant decorative appearance.
Shot peening
“Shot peening” is a surface process in which bombardment of surfaces using small zirconium beads for example, can provide better properties in relation to failure and tension corrosion.
The process has a wide range of uses, including gear wheels, machine components and aerospace components. FORCE Technology can offer shot peening application and consultancy for pilot- and R&D projects.
FORCE Technology also offers a wide range of courses for surface technology.
Equipment for surface testing
FORCE Technology has the equipment for accelerated weathering testing, to be applied to products exposed to rough maritime environments or products affected by indoor sunlight. We also sell test fluids for measuring surface tension.
